Open for the Season!

Hello everyone! Are you excited?

Our museum will open tomorrow, April 30th, and be open until the end of October. Come and visit us Thursday through Sunday, 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM, at the Darden Mill at 101 Railroad Avenue in Elkins, West Virginia!

Admission is $5 for everyone over 12 years old. Our first free admission day is May 27th!

This year’s exhibit is called Coal and the Railroad and tells the story of the development of the coal and railroad industries in West Virginia. This exhibit features a guest exhibit from the Friends of Blackwater in Thomas, West Virginia, about the coal and railroad industrial complex built by Henry Gassaway Davis. They’ve done a really job– and you can see their work at our exhibit and at the rail trail in Thomas!

This exhibit was made possible in part by a grant from the West Virginia Humanities Council.
